The Virginia Chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association is an organization whose members have a common interest in protecting drinking water from contamination through cross-connections. ABPA is an organization dedicated to education and technical assistance. Through its network of regions and chapters, local needs and interests are supported with the resources of the national organization. ABPA is committed to advancing all aspects of backflow prevention for the continued protection of all water users.
ABPA members may include anyone who has role in backflow prevention. Our members include a wide variety of representatives from across the industry, for example: public and private waterworks, code officials and inspectors, cross-connection control specialists, engineers, plumbers, backflow device installers and testers, fire protection services, irrigation and landscape services, heavy highway contractors, backflow device manufacturers, backflow parts vendors, backflow prevention service companies, backflow training organizations, and many more!
Because each member plays a different role in backflow prevention, the Virginia Chapter brings members together to improve communication, cooperation, and to promote the protection of Virginia’s drinking water from cross-connections. Our annual conferences regularly feature guest-speakers from across the country, who share their technical expertise and vast experience with our members. Our members are informed about important changes in the industry, backflow events in the news, and the ongoing need for diligence regarding backflow prevention and cross-connection control.”
